The drive times and distances shown in your itinerary are estimates from point A to point B. They can look long on paper, but they don't reflect how the day actually unfolds.

We plan travel days so you're rarely in the vehicle for more than about two hours at a time without a break. Along the way, we stop for scenic viewpoints, villages, meals, cultural sites, and other places worth exploring. The itinerary does include several longer travel days through the High Atlas Mountains, Draa Valley, Sahara region, and Dades Gorge.

Some stops are planned, while others happen naturally; a beautiful viewpoint, an interesting village, tea with a local family, a conversation with a shopkeeper, or something unexpected your host notices along the way.

Private transportation is included throughout your tour. Vehicles have air conditioning and heat. Depending on the group and route, transportation may be in a Toyota Land Cruiser or passenger van. When vans cannot access off-road desert areas, transportation is changed to a 4x4 as needed.

If the temperature in the vehicle isn't comfortable, please speak up. Your Moroccan host/driver may have a different tolerance for heat or cold and will be happy to adjust it.

We carefully handpick our accommodations and work with trusted hotel partners. Not all hotels are created equally, and service, amenities, and accommodation standards in Morocco may differ from what you are accustomed to at home.

The accommodations selected for this tour offer premium/luxury accommodations.

Most hotels offer heating and cooling, with a few exceptions. Room photos are also representative; the exact room, décor, layout, or view assigned may differ from the photos shown.

The Sahara is one of the highlights of this itinerary and also one of its most remote portions. Your Merzouga desert camp provides private tents with bathrooms, showers, linens, hot water, and climate control. Breakfast and dinner are included.

Even with these comforts, remember that you are traveling in the Sahara Desert. Conditions, infrastructure, and access to services are naturally different from those in Morocco's larger cities.

Travel insurance is not included, but we highly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance for this tour.

Your journey takes you into remote regions of Morocco, including the Sahara Desert, where access to medical facilities and other services can be more limited. Appropriate insurance can provide important protection in the event of illness, injury, cancellation, trip interruption, lost luggage, or an unexpected situation requiring medical assistance or evacuation.

We recommend selecting a policy with appropriate medical, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and trip interruption coverage for your individual needs.

Hotel and dining gratuities are included.

Gratuities for your local host/driver and local guides are not included. These tips are entirely at your discretion and should reflect your experience and the level of service you feel you received.

For certain individual experiences, your itinerary may also indicate when a small gratuity is customary or appreciated. For example, for camel handlers or local musicians.

There is no obligation to tip beyond what you feel is appropriate.

Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control may require a change in accommodations.

For the safety and well-being of our guests, we reserve the right to rehouse travelers when circumstances require it. We will make every reasonable effort to provide alternative accommodations of equivalent quality and price. However, during a crisis, emergency, or other exceptional situation, an equivalent property cannot always be guaranteed.

Your tour includes accommodations, your local host/driver, private transportation with heat and A/C, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, airport transfers, fuel, taxes and tolls, tours, entrance fees, and experiences specifically identified in your itinerary.

Items not included generally include snacks and drinks unless specified, alcohol, travel/medical insurance, domestic and international flights, gratuities for your local host/driver and local guides, and personal expenses.

Your itinerary is well planned, but intentionally not rigid. Major destinations, accommodations, and included experiences are arranged in advance, while your host has flexibility to respond to the day.

That might mean stopping for an incredible view, lingering over tea, exploring a village, discovering a local market, or enjoying an unexpected conversation.

We take care of the logistics while leaving enough room for Morocco to surprise you.
